Soke Teruo Hayashi was famous for "dojo yaburi", a practice of challenging an entire dojo to a fight.

If any student or sensei could beat him, Soke would ask for training. If not, he moved on.

Sensei Says

Drivers, please do not park in front of the main entrance while loading and unloading passengers.

The International Hayashi-Ha Shito Ryu Karate-do Federation was launched by Hanshi Julius Thiry in 2007. The WKA Bellevue Dojo is a charter member of the IHSKF and follows the curriculum established by Hanshi Thiry to continue the style of Karate originated by Soke Teruo Hayashi.


Including all the schools in the Washington Karate Assocation, the IHSKF has member schools across the United States and in Europe.
